If tear gas is banned in warfare, why is ICE smothering Americans in it?

Since 1997, the United States has agreed to not use tear gas in international conflicts as a signatory of the Conventional Weapons Convention. Additionally, the United States’ Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states “riot control agents” commonly known as tear gas when used in small amounts can cause:

  • watery, burning and blurred vision in the eyes
  • excessive mucus and burning of the nose
  • burning, excessive saliva and irritation in the mouth and throat
  • coughing, wheezing, difficulty breathing in the lungs
  • rash and burning sensations on the skin
  • vomiting

When used in large amounts and over time of prolonged and continuous exposure, it can cause partial or complete blindness, glaucoma and even death. If you suffer from asthma like me or if you have lung deficiencies caused by Covid 19 infections, it can definitely cause death.

The CDC further lists the different types of compounds of tear gas as chloroacetophenone (CN), chlorbenzylidenemalononitrile (CS), chloropocrin (PS), bromobenyzylcyanide (CA) and dibenzoxazepine (CR). In a recent article, I exposed how the Department of Homeland Security is soliciting suppliers of various chemical weapons for use on American protestors exercising their constitutional rights that are banned in international law during war.

DHS is looking for a company to fulfill a large request for “non-lethal” weapons. Agencies they list as needing these weapons are ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), CBP (Customs and Border Protection and Border Patrol), USSS (Secret Service), FLETC (The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) and any “other DHS or non-DHS agencies” they want to…

The chemical weapons or tear gas DHS is ordering to use on its own citizens is the same tear gas the US military is not allowed to use during war. This is because the international agreement does not prohibit use of these chemicals by signatories in their own countries. Is this an error? Perhaps, but one thing is for certain, these agents are exposing themselves to massive amounts of these chemicals as they kidnap and brutalize American citizens. When they develop glaucoma, go blind, or die, the US government will have to support them and pay for their medical bills. This means our tax money is being used not only to gas us, but will be used to medically support those gassing us.

In the end, they are not only violating civil rights and possibly injuring their fellow citizens, they are likely hurting themselves. States and cities must immediately pass laws banning the use of these chemical weapons on their citizens citing international law and the CDC.
